Silver Needle White Puerh Tea Cake
These beautiful white tea cakes are made entirely from the first flush spring buds of Camellia taliensis, a wild tea varietal. Grown, processed, and hand-pressed in Jinggu County, Yunnan, China, they showcase the distinctive character of this rare tea species.
The large, downy buds are easy to brew using gongfu style, Western style, or even by decoction. The first infusions are soft and sweet with notes of honey and a silky finish. As the session continues, the tea reveals increasing sweetness, layers of fruit, and a fuller structure while maintaining remarkable clarity. Capable of many infusions, this is a tea that drinks beautifully now and will continue to develop with age.
